David Hardy Artist

David Hardy was born in December 1956, in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, and baptised at Holy Cross Church, Fenham.

Education began at Wingrove Primary School, followed by Blakelaw Comprehensive School, leaving aged 15.

His working career has been varied, including as an apprentice instrument maker, a bus conductor, and a worker at a Badminton Racket factory. Most of his working life was as a stock-keeper at John Lewis in Newcastle Upon Tyne, but he is now retired.

He began painting with gloss and enamel paint in 1999. Speciality, extinct birds, but also other subjects. All paintings are initialled with a yellow DH in the bottom right-hand corner.
